"Our Mission is to Keep Hospitals Open"

The tragic consequence of hospitals closing due to lack of staff is that people die.

We started a campaign to Keep Hospitals Open which has resulted in us launching the National Maternity Support Foundation (NMSF) to ensure the tragic loss of our son Jake Canter was not in vain.

It is now clear that the terrible consequence of the maternity unit at Barnet Hospital closing to admissions on the 29th October 2005 led to Jake being stillborn.

It has taken a great deal of time to enable us to share our experience on a public platform but we feel it necessary in order to stop this happening and help others who have suffered.

We have completed a number of charity events, including a trek to Everest base camp, helping to raise funds for the Foundation. For more information on how you can support the 'Keep Hospitals Open' campaign through the NMSF please email info@jakescharity.org for more details. Thank you to everyone who have helped us and already donated to the fund.

We now want to raise awareness of this issue at the highest level as it is a National problem and is affecting many people's lives.

We want action by the Government to 'Keep Hospitals Open' now.
